On the southeastern tip of Virgin Gorda, visitors will find the Copper Mine. Since the granite southern coast of Virgin Gorda was similar to that of Cornwall, where copper mining was a lucrative industry, the British speculated that there was copper here as well. From 1838-1867, Cornish miners worked the Copper Mine. An easy taxi ride from Spanish Town, today the remains of the chimney, boiler house, cistern and mine shafts stand guard against an azure sea. One gloomy Saturday morning when we were about leaving Ultrawinds Resort in Baungon, Bukidnon after an official event, I tried to invite my lady boss Ma’am Venus and other colleagues Laurence and Marife to take a sidetrip to the island. The misty weather would be good for beach bumming so I convinced them.

An important aspect to the company’s approach to responsible tourism has been to ensure that not only is the environment …

Elevation of at least 300 m (980 ft), with a 300 m (980 ft) elevation range within 7 km (4.3 mi). Before I left for Scotland, I read about the Shiant Islands and studied the sailing directions. I learned to pronounce the name properly, in one softened syllable: ‘Shant’. The little archipelago is made up of three rugged islands: to the west Garbh Eilean and Eilean an Tighe are joined by a natural boulder isthmus; across an open pool to the northeast lies Eilean Mhuire. Adam Nicolson, whose family have owned the islands for many years writes, ‘The rest of the world thinks there is nothing much to them. Even on a map of the Hebrides the tip of your little finger would blot them out. But the Shiants… are not modest. They stand out high and undoubtable.’ Although keen to visit, I doubted whether it would be possible, for …

When I read stories of huge, really huge, sums of money being asked – and given – for beautiful Fiji islands, I feel quite ill. There are many websites of dealers advertising the sale of Fiji islands. Here is a sample from the Lau group. A Taste of Bruny offers a range of mouthwatering organic products that will fit neatly into any picnic basket. From quince jellies & pastes, to eat with local cheeses, to locally grown olives. Their extensive range of exotic chutneys & barbecue sauces with a twist, think blueberry barbecue, are available on the island and from their website.island

There are a number of events choices and aligning of planets and moons as to why I am here. It boils down to, yes you guessed it, green, show me the money. To advance my pilot career and establish a future for my fiance and I, I’ve decided …

Very Positive (115 reviews) – 93% of the 115 user reviews in the last 30 days are positive. Case in point, I recently built up a 1985 Eddy Merckx with Campagnolo Super Record (not that Super Record) and shod it in tubular tires. No part on the bike is new, except for tires, cables/housing, spokes & nipples. Every part is from the 80s. And guess what? The bike is quickly becoming a huge favorite of mine. It’s huge fun to ride. Compared to a modern bike, the shifting is slow, the brakes require thought and distance to stop, and forget about trying to shift when out of the saddle. But damn, I love riding this thing. I like riding for the sake of riding.

I want to forewarn you though… this post is about several different events, four of them I’ve turned into a collage to shorten the post, and …
